Tyrol am Haldensee | Tirol – Austria
In the Tannheimer Tal, one of the most beautiful high valleys in Europe, at 1,100 metres altitude where the Alpine peaks are reflected in the waters of Lake Haldensee, stands Hotel Tyrol am Haldensee. Managed by the Barbist family for three generations, the resort combines authentic Tyrolean hospitality with a high-level wellness offering in a natural landscape of rare beauty.
The complex has grown over time through multiple expansion phases designed by Atelier Krissmer & Partner in Tarrenz. Key works include the construction of the atrium with reception, hotel hall, bar and dining rooms in 2010, the expansion of the VitalQuelle wellness area between 2011 and 2013, the addition of the panoramic garden sauna in 2016, and the renovation of rooms, studios and suites in 2020-2021.
The heart of the resort is the “VitalQuelle”, a 3,500 m² wellness area where water, warmth and silence merge. The aquatic world includes the panoramic indoor pool, the heated outdoor pool open from March to November, a refreshment pool, whirlpool, Kneipp facility and children’s pool. The sauna area offers various experiences: from the 90° panoramic garden sauna to the 60° Zirbe bio-sauna. Relaxation areas include a grotto, a salt barn, a Swiss stone pine forest and an alpine hut with open fireplace.
Rooms, studios and suites use natural materials in an authentic Tyrolean atmosphere. The “Tyrol Verwöhnpension” cuisine offers regional and seasonal dishes, also gluten-free. Three family mountain guides accompany guests on hikes among peaks and alpine pastures.
