LUKB Customer Service Hall | Lucerne – Switzerland

Following the success of the "Quarter within a Quarter" project, DOBAS completely renewed the customer service atrium of the Luzerner Kantonalbank headquarters, originally built in 1973 and already renovated in 2007. The main objective was to soften the cold atmosphere of the spaces, introducing a more welcoming language consistent with the culture of the city of Lucerne.

Drawing inspiration from the Neustadt-Hirschmatt neighbourhood, the project revisits the concept of a “quarter within a quarter”, integrating urban variety into the interior design. A distinctive element is the large suspended cloud-shaped light feature, which evokes the Lucerne sky and helps create a softer, more diffused atmosphere.

The hall is articulated into several consultation zones: mobile high tables, semi-private pergolas and bespoke meeting areas. The pergolas echo the block architecture of the surrounding neighbourhood, while the consultation areas are inspired by four iconic locations in the city. The concrete wall finish and the presence of rich indoor vegetation evoke the feeling of an outdoor space, while maintaining the elegance of a banking environment.
