Frognal Apartments | Hampstead – London
The project involves the merging and complete refurbishment of two apartments located in a Grade II listed building dating back to 1800, in the heart of historic Hampstead. A "back to bricks" approach stripped the entire volume to its bare structure, before redefining the spaces in a high-end key that integrates classical and contemporary elements.
The new layout includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two dressing rooms, a study, a utility room and a generous open-plan living area with a bespoke kitchen. Structural and building services works included full wall insulation, soundproofing, new screed floors, new partitions, suspended ceilings, decorative cornicing, new MEP installations and the replacement of windows with bespoke solid timber frames crafted to measure.
Great attention was paid to artisanal finishes: Havwoods parquet flooring, bespoke furniture, a high-end kitchen with oak details, premium panelling and a custom staircase with integrated handrail. A historical footnote: one of the two flats was previously home to Jon Moss, the renowned drummer of Culture Club.
