Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa | Jesolo

Directly on the longest seafront promenade in Europe, at Piazza Le Corbusier in Lido di Jesolo, the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa is a five-star property that reinterprets the glamour and lightness of Italy's great twentieth-century seaside resorts for the contemporary age. Opened in spring 2015 after two years of construction, it is the fruit of a collaboration between two outstanding figures of international architecture and design: New York architect Richard Meier for the exterior concept and Italian Matteo Thun for the interiors

Richard Meier, Pritzker Prize laureate and world-renowned for his white buildings of pure geometric form, designed for Jesolo a compact, sober and elegant white volume, with floor-to-ceiling glazing filtering the Adriatic light and rhythmically staggered terraces that recall the motion of waves. The project is part of the broader The City Beach urban plan of Jesolo, which has also involved Zaha Hadid and Jean Nouvel, and offers an architecture that engages with the Mediterranean without relinquishing Meier’s characteristic formal clarity. Matteo Thun curated the interiors with a vibrant chromatic palette inspired by 1960s Pop Art, the colours of the sea and nautical elements, creating spaces that are sophisticated and relaxed in equal measure: severe on the outside, eccentric and warm within.

The property comprises 152 accommodation units, including 102 double rooms and 50 suites of one, two or three bedrooms ranging from 45 to 150 m², plus 19 residential apartments in the immediate vicinity. The Acquapura SPA extends across approximately 1,500 m² with a heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, solarium, various saunas and 8 massage and treatment rooms. All spaces benefit from natural light and open towards the private beach on the Adriatic, approximately 40 km from Venice Marco Polo Airport. In 2022 a new wing was inaugurated featuring panoramic sea-view suites, a new spa overlooking the Adriatic and a Tropical Déco-style restaurant and lounge bar directly on the beach.
