At the top of the Akrotiri hill on the southeastern tip of Santorini, the Kalestesia Suites is a family-run boutique hotel comprising 10 independent luxury suites and maisonettes overlooking the island's volcanic caldera. The name derives from the Greek word "καλαισθησία", meaning the ability to perceive and appreciate beauty: a concept that encapsulates the philosophy of the entire property, founded on the balance between minimal architecture and the maximalist beauty of the Aegean landscape
The property, part of the Aqua Vista Hotels boutique collection, extends across 3,500 m² and accommodates 10 independent units in two sections: an original part in traditional Cycladic style and an annex with more contemporary-leaning suites, both positioned to offer 360-degree panoramic views of the caldera, Fira, Imerovigli and Oia. Categories range from the 25 m² Elegant Double Room to the 60 m² Panorama Suite, including the 48 m² Family Elegant Maisonette with a private heated plunge pool and the 50 m² Senior Suite; most units feature a heated outdoor Jacuzzi or infinity pool with direct views over the volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palia Kameni. Each suite is individually furnished with an open-plan layout, warm tones, a Nespresso machine, minibar, air conditioning and olive oil bath products.
The culinary offer centres on farm-to-table cuisine featuring local Santorini produce for at least 80% of the menu composition; the pool bar offers wines grown on the island’s volcanic soil, with guided tasting sessions available. The spa area encompasses a Jacuzzi, hammam, massage room with natural oil extracts and a beauty salon; the gym is equipped with cardiovascular machines, free weights, Pilates equipment and an antigravity yoga rig. An atelier, a children’s playroom and bicycle rental complete the offering. The hotel operates seasonally from May to October and is located 350 m from Akrotiri village centre, 2 km from the Akrotiri prehistoric archaeological site, 10 km from Fira and 3 km from the Akrotiri lighthouse.
